PWT is the result of the merger between Tøjeksperten, Denmark’s largest menswear chain, and Wagner/Texman (Hansen & Pedersen) another Danish menswear chain and wholesale business.
The Tøjeksperten chain consists of 102 stores across Denmark of which 67 are proprietary and 35 are under franchise. The chain’s private labels include Morgan, Huzar and Oscar.
Hansen & Pedersen is an international clothing business with in-house wholesale operations covering the full assortment carried by a menswear shop. The Group consists of two business units: Wagner Detail, the retail business and Texman, the wholesale business. In total, the Wagner chain has 100 stores in the Nordic region, including 43 in Denmark, of which 27 are proprietary and 16 are under franchise
The two chains are operated under separate names and with different target groups, but will optimise the back office operations of purchasing, marketing and private label production in order to capitalise on the synergy potential. Along with the opening of new stores this is expected to increase the strength of both chains substantially.
