Polaris has sold Frösunda to the British investor HgCapital on April 29th 2010. Frösunda was acquired by Polaris in 2007 and under Polaris' management the company has more than doubled its turnover from MSEK 820 to an expected MSEK 1,800 in 2010. The company is now positioned as a market leader in Sweden with over 5000 employees and is established in 29 Swedish cities. Frösunda is active within personal assistance, assisted living and daily activities for functionally impaired.
Polaris has been extremely satisfied with the investment due to a fantastic commitment from both management and employees at Frösunda. At the same time Frösunda states that the inputs from Polaris has been of great value in terms of experience with acquisitions, network, toolbox and the access to specialized knowledge within multiple areas.
The buyer, HgCapital, is a sector focused private equity investor in the European mid-market. They focus on investments with an enterprise value in the range of £50-£500 million.
The acquisition of Frösunda provides HgCapital with a platform for further growth in its current market and the possibility of expanding its care offering into adjacent segments.
