New store opened in Aabenraa, Denmark
Before the end of the day on Thursday September 9th, 1.500 people had found their way to Sønderjylland’s largest baby and children’s store in Aabenraa. BabySam’s store opening attracted people from around the region and Radio Mojn was broadcasting live from inside the store. “At the opening there were over 250 people who had been waiting from early morning, this demanded a thought through logistics in order to make it run as smooth as possible” stated Regional Director John Meinhardt, BabySam.
Opening of Sønderjylland’s largest baby- and children’s store BabySam, on Løgumsklostervej 145, Aabenraa, turned into a success. Before the end of the day had over 1.500 people visited the store, which is in comparable size to 10 family houses. There were also giveaways and great deals on certain products to be found in relation to the opening, i.e. giveaways to the 100 first customers to enter the store, snowsuits at 100 DKK, and 20% off certain strollers. This showed out to be popular since these stocked out first of all products. Thereby, it could be concluded by store manager Betine Leen Poulsen and her colleagues that they had gotten a great first day in the new store which replaced a smaller one on Søstvej in Aabenraa. Radio Mojn’s host Henrik Daalgard broadcasted the first hours of the opening and arranged price winning competitions, including assembling a Trip Trap children’s chair and racing with strollers, where one could win prizes worth up to 20.000 DKK.
“At the opening over 250 people had gathered from early morning and the crowd grew steadily. We had to divide customers into groups to make sure they could feel comfortable while shopping. By day’s end we could almost proclaim everything out of stock, but fortunately we were able to stock up again, as a result of our central warehouse being located in town”, stated Regional Director John Meinhardt, who coordinated the opening with the Store Manager and her staff.
Baby- and children’s chain BabySam, the largest in the country with 36 stores, maintains its growth. The opening of the new giant store in Aabenraa aims to serve customers from amongst others Haderslev, Vojens, and Tønder, they together make up a population of 200.000, whereof 60.000 lives in Aabenraa.
The new BabySam store is located in an attractive shopping environment including shops supplying both short- and long-term durables. The store is located near the highway and has free parking.
